Levels of Play

Toledo Sport and Social Club - Spirit of Play

The Toledo Sport and Social Club exists to provide adults with the ability to continue to compete in lifelong recreational play. We realize there will be intense moments during games, in particular towards the end of games or when a player makes a mistake in judgment, but we hope the Toledo Sport and Social Club Spirit of Play will always remain.

The Toledo Sport and Social Club encourages players to play with a "Fun First, Win Second" attitude. Our leagues are about getting out and having a good time with old friends and new! The Toledo Sport and Social Club believes that encouraging good sports behavior is why players join and will remain in our leagues. Playing with Toledo Sport and Social Club Spirit provides a non-threatening, fun environment for all levels of players. Good sporting behavior: behavioral tendencies of a person who can take loss or defeat without complaint, and victory without gloating, and who treats all opponents with fairness, generosity, courtesy and respect. This is the attitude we encourage all players to display on and off the playing field!

Competition Levels Defined

The "Majors" is for teams/individuals that have advanced athletic skills and love to socialize. At this level you can expect contract negotiations, holdouts over guaranteed salary, and busted noses occurring in every game...Okay, just kidding, but the players who want some good competition and care what the final score of the game is should choose to play in this level of league.

The "Minors" is for teams/individuals that have intermediate athletic skills and love to socialize. At this level you probably still care who wins the game but you aren’t going to lose sleep over the outcome. This is probably the most commonly chosen level of play because it is really meant to be the best combination of competition and fun.

The "For Fun" is for teams/individuals that have basic athletic skills and love to socialize. At this level you and your team are out there completely just to have a good time. Win or lose, your team just enjoys playing games and might very well be there just to get to the bar afterwards. Teams in this league are going to make sure they have fun no matter what and they might even lost track of the score because it really is just about playing the game.

Bowling

Bowling is a great way to hang out with friends and meet a few more. With our bowler friendly handicapping and shorter seasons than most bowling leagues, we are able to keep the game fun for those of all skill levels.

What's Included?

12 games per team each week (1 match) for 8 weeks regular season
Playoff or "9 is Fine" week to end season
Each match can be bowled by either 6 bowlers or 4 bowlers.
(6 bowlers each bowling 2 games or 4 bowlers each bowling 3 games).

NOTE: League t-shirts are made possible by our great sponsors who appear on the back. Teams who do not register by the deadline run the risk of not receiving league t-shirts. Some leagues will not receive t-shirts based on the amount of TSSC sponsorship.

What's Required

Creating a team is very easy, just follow the steps below to get your team started:

Please provide a team name in the appropriate box below.
Invite your friends. Please provide the email addresses of your teammates. They will receive an invitation email encouraging them to become registered users of the site and take advantage of special site features.
If you are unsure about email address, leave them blank for now. You can log in to your personal homepage and manage your team at a later time.

Payment Options

Your team is almost ready to go! Just to recap, follow the payment link below to submit your payment for your Toledo Sport and Social Club registration. If you are choosing to pay by check or cash, please contact us at to let us know or to make arrangements. Please remember that we work on a first-paid, first-in basis and also that we request payments be made at the time of registration.

As you wait for the league to start, here are some important pieces of information to know:

To be sure your team's registration was completed correctly, you can review your team by clicking on the "HOME" link at the top right of the site. From this page, you can change team name, manage players, and make registration fee payment.

League T-Shirts: please review the TSSC league t-shirt policy which can be downloaded HERE.

Please use the PayPal link on your personalized homepage to pay your league fee. It is due at the time you complete your registration but you can come back as long as it is before the league starts. TSSC operates on a "First Paid - First In" basis, therefore the only sure way to secure your spot in the league is to pay your league registration fee.

League schedules and additional league information will be posted to the league page within a few days of the registration deadline occurring.
